Camp Spring Creek is committed to bringing awareness of dyslexia to our community. Dyslexia is a specific language-based learning difficulty that often interferes with the processing of language including reading, writing and spelling. Along with the hindrances that occur, individuals with dyslexia often possess many natural talents. 

OG Trainings

Camp Spring Creek will be hosting an Associate Level training in Bakersville in September:  the dates are September 12-23 (with weekend off in between) from 8-5 daily. Please print the registration form and submit the $50 registration fee if you would like to participate in this training.

Camp Spring Creek plans to host an Associate Level training for any Mitchell County teacher at the Outreach Training Center in Spruce Pine, beginning on October 10th and continuing through December 19th, on Mondays and Thursdays from 4-8pm.  There is a limit of 10 persons on any day and participants can choose to come to any session, but in order to receive a course completion, those interested would need to participate in the entire course.  Please print the registration form and email info@campspringcreek.org or call 828-766-5032 to register.

We are thrilled to announce that we received a CFWNC Strategy Grant for $25,000 to train and mentor 10 teachers in Mitchell County.  Susie is excited to be working with a great group of elementary teachers and hopes that she can continue helping teachers reach more children, everywhere and everyday.  We also received another grant from the Walmart State Giving Program to continue work with the Mitchell County school system in the 2011-12 school year.  Please go to the Upcoming Trainings page for more information.
