Susie van
der Vorst has been a Fellow with the Academy of Orton Gillingham
Practitioners and Educators since 2004. She was originally trained at
the Kildonan School and Dunnabeck under the supervision of Diana King
and Shirley Kokesh. She has also worked alongside Laurie Cuddy,
Theresa Collins, William van Cleave and several other Fellows trained
at Kildonan. She has also assisted trainings with JoAnn Crawford in
Asheville, NC and Joyce Bilgrave in Durango, CO.
SCORE
(Spring Creek Outreach Resources for Educators) located at 42 Walnut
Avenue; Spruce Pine, NC 28777 now serves the Western North Carolina
area with varied multisensory language trainings and workshops, parent
focus groups, Orton Gillingham tutor support, and a variety of guest
speakers to discuss issues relating to individuals with dyslexia.
We plan to have a many guest speakers including well known authorities
in the field of dyslexia along with experienced parents and friends of
dyslexic individuals.
